Late night run.  I love running at night, even though I don't do it very often.  Stars were bright and the moon was out.  Very peaceful and nice and cool.  Last 15+ mile run before Logan Peak.  It's the final countdown...

Yep I'm ready and rearin' to go. I think my foot will be fine. Had a bit of a scare yesterday when I slipped during a water fight, but it felt fine last night on my run.

Oh hey, and I meant to ask you and Jon (and anyone else who has input) what you are doing as far as fueling...do you just do the aid station stuff, or do you recommend other provisions? I've never done a race like this so I was just curious what y'all do.

I am a recent fan of Shot blocks. I will have 2 of those with me and rely on the aid stations to fill the gaps. They do a great job at Logan Peak and the placement of the aid stations are perfect. Bring a handheld bottle or some kind of hydration pack for sure. I can loan you one if you need it.

Jon's a fan of gels and carries a flask for longer races. He will probably rely on those exclusively.

This race is short enough that I won't carry a whole flask. Doesn't fit in the green shorts, after all. :)

The aid stations are about an hour apart at our pace (assuming minimal snow slowdown- which might play a factor this year). So 1 handheld is perfect, like Cody said. I'll start with 2 gu's, and take 1 or 2 gu/shot blocks from each aid station. I try to do a gu every 30 min or so. They also have lots of solid food- I suggest carrying a small ziplock to eat food on the go, if you do that.

Ok. I've never tried the gels or anything like that, but there's a first time for everything. I have one water bottle, but no nifty carrying devices or anything so if you are willing to loan me something for the race I would be very grateful. I've been doing all of my training with nothing except one bottle on my long runs, so I'm hoping that helps too.
