Alright.  I am back.

Well, I don't really know what has been going on with me the last month or so.  Ever since finals week my motivation has been nonexistent, I haven't felt very good, and just all around didn't feel much like running and consequently I haven't done much.  But I have a resolution (not a new years one--just a resolution) that I am going to be consistent until I rest after the Ogden Marathon where I am going to shoot for sub-2:45.  Then I am going to try to make the USU Cross Country team the following summer/fall.  So there it is.  I have my goals and so now I will have some motivation and something to shoot for.

Went 5 miles today just easy.  Before and during the break my left hamstring felt slightly tweaked so I took it easy today on it, and it felt pretty good.  That area of that leg is always the part that gives me problems when I do have problems.  I wonder why.  Anyway, I felt really good today and the facemask and gloves my parents gave me for my birthday worked wonderfully.

8 easy just around town and stuff.  Felt very good today which was a definite plus.  Hopefully I will be able to get back into good enough shape in the next week or two to hit the fieldhouse and work on my speed since I have done no speed whatsoever for nearly a year and I could probably use it.  Also it's a good excuse to stay inside during the cold.  :)

6 miles on the treadmill because it was freaking cold outside today and I have a cold and didn't want to totally destroy my lungs for the Aggies game tonight...not to mention I would rather not get really sick.  I have decided that treadmills are quite possibly the most boring thing on the planet.  It's a wonder that people haven't started attributing suicides to them.  Oh well, got it in.  I don't think that they give you as good of a workout though...I wasn't even breathing hard at 6:40 pace even though it seemed fast enough.  I had to go under 6 before I really started working hard.  But that was only for the last half mile.  Felt good to run warm though instead of freezing.

Opted not to run today and yesterday.  I kinda have felt under the weather the last few days and figure it's not worth it to get really sick.

started off easy then did 10 min. of 6 min pace, followed by 6:40 for 5 min, then did a 2 min interval at 5:00 pace.  I don't think I work as hard as in real life when I'm on the tread but it felt good.

7 on the treadmill.  stormy...hopefully this means the inversion will be gone by monday.  Also went to the field house with a buddy and did upper body weights.  Bench, Incline, biceps etc.

Finally!  Clear air!  went outside for a run around town.  did my North Logan/main/4th loop and felt great!  it felt wonderful to be outside breathing clean air again although it was a little chilly.  Great run today!

Ran down to the field house and hit the lower body on weights.  3 circuits on the lower body stuff (leg extension, flexor, etc...), then did 4x200 all out.  Ran back home using circuitous routes.

Felt good.  I'm gonna try to lift twice a week and do a conditioning workout on the track once a week until it warms up.

didn't get a chance to run today because I actually went on a date...for like the first time ever.  But I did get a workout in...we went snowshoeing up near Tony Grove and we snowshoed up this mountain to the top and it was pretty good and definitely got the heart rate up.  Not sure how far it was but probably near 2 miles each way.  I think when I get a job and have money I might get a pair of snowshoes and do that more often.  It's fun.
